Leigh Rogers, a fifth-year adviser from Hermann, Missouri, holds the Emerging Journalism Adviser Award presented to her by the Missouri Interscholastic Press Association, March 25

Leigh Rogers, a fifth-year publications adviser and English teacher at Hermann High School, Hermann, Missouri has been honored as a promising journalism educator. She advises the Paragon Yearbook and The Blue Review newspaper https://www.thebluereview.info.

Beginning in 2017 the Missouri Interscholastic Press Association has recognized promising new journalism educators with the Emerging Journalism Educator of the Year Award. These “rising stars” show a commitment to journalism education, improving the media program(s) at their school and empowering their scholastic journalism students.

The presentation was made at the MIPA’a J-Day, March 25. Peggy Gregory, JEA Mentor from Arizona, is Leigh’s JEA Mentor mentor.
