The JEA Mentor Forums are designed to encourage group discussion and sharing of mentoring challenges and strategies.

Each forum is different — with a different combination of mentors attending and with different activities.

The Minneapolis Mentor Forum ended on a high note — literally.

The mentors divided into two teams. Each team was to be creative in a song, skit or poem to share issues they have encountered in mentoring. As an added challenge, they were to include a natural disaster, as many school years do include those (i.e., snow days, hurricanes).

Here’s one of the team’s renditions of “The Twelve Days of Christmas” modified into “The Five Problems for Mentees.”

[Unfortunately the volume level of the recording of the second team’s presentation wasn’t loud enough to use.]
