Now’s the time to make nominations for JEA awards. The deadline for most awards is July 1.

Check the JEA website for the list of awards and information about how to make nominations.

JEA awards recognize veteran advisers, promising new advisers, media organizations, and supportive school administrators.

You can nominate for Rising Star a former mentee who has really provided leadership for the school media program.

You can nominate a colleague who is retiring for the Lifetime Achievement.

You and your mentee can nominate a school principal or superintendent who has been an advocate for scholastic journalism for the Administrator of the Year Award.

Those who receive awards are recognized at the JEA conventions — next year in Minneapolis (Nov. 17-20) and Seattle (April 12-15, 2012).
