Santa, in the disguise of a UPS delivery person, arrived this morning with a gift that any teacher enjoys receiving — a copy of a useful new textbook.

Scholastic Journalism — the 11th edition — arrived as promised by Chris Hegg, the textbook representative from Wiley & Sons, Inc.

As you’ll remember, Konnie Krislock, one of our California mentors, met Chris at the JEA/NSPA convention in Washington, D.C., in November. She told him about the JEA mentoring program. He was enthusiastic about the program and asked what he could do to help. The result is that he has sent each mentor and each member of the Mentoring Committee a copy of Scholastic Journalism. So all of us should be receiving copies and have them ready as we start back to school in January.

Thanks, Chris!

In an upcoming blog post, I’ll post information Chris has provided about mentees ordering review copies.
